COVID-19 Protocols

In effort to protect our vulnerable transplant patient population, we require all visitors, guests, and staff to adhere to the following requirements:

More information on our COVID response can be found here.

*”Fully vaccinated” is defined as 14 days after the final dose of a vaccine with boosters occurring 6 months after the final round of the initial dose.

Our guests and staff here at Nora’s Home are grateful for your interest in getting involved! There are many ways to share your compassion and make families feel at home. Explore these opportunities for you to experience the joy and satisfaction of giving some of your time and talents to help our families in need. Please fill out the form below prior to arriving for your volunteer shift.

Have a unique skill or idea that isn’t listed? We welcome the creativity of our volunteers and strive to find a good fit for everyone. Contact us at info@norashome.org to discuss further.

*Please note that volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone to participate in any on-campus activities. Kitchen volunteers must be at least 10 years old and have an adult chaperone with them in the kitchen if under 14. Children who are 14+ years may volunteer at the home without an adult chaperone. There are many virtual/distance opportunities that children can participate in such as Pantry Drives or the Sunflower Sack Program. All activities are subject to the approval of Nora’s Home.

Home Helper Opportunities

Chef of the Day

There is nothing like coming home to a delicious, hot meal. We are seeking individuals or groups to sign up to be a Chef of the Day by either preparing/serving a meal or dropping off/catering a meal to the families staying at Nora’s Home. Review Guidelines. Not sure what to serve? Check out these transplant-friendly recipes for groups!

Play games (BINGO, Trivia, Scrabble, Chess, Checkers, card games) with guests! Show a movie or lead a craft night! Put on a talent show or challenge guests to a yard game tournament! We have many board games and card decks for your use and we would be happy to collaborate with you in any family night activity of your choosing. Review Guidelines

Enjoy home improvement projects? Come wash windows, help touch up paint, wash toys, or do other small, odd jobs around the home to help us keep things running smoothly and looking nice for our guests.

Office Help

We are looking for smiling faces to help the front desk with administrative tasks. From answering calls, helping to check guests in/out, filing, to other necessary tasks. At times we also have special projects.

Pantry Drive

Looking for a service project for the office? Want to make a friendly competition among classes at school? Consider hosting a pantry drive to help provide needed supplies for guests staying in the home. Visit our Wish List page for more information.

Seasonal Gardening

Have a green thumb? Our Healing Garden requires your special touch every weekend throughout the Spring and the Summer. Weeding, trimming, planting–whatever your gardening specialty is, we’ll be happy to put it to good use!

Sunflower Sacks

Guests often spend long days at clinic and miss meals. Sunflower Sacks help provide an easy snack for guests to bring with them to long clinic and enjoy! Learn more how to decorate some bags, fill them with snacks, and drop them by to the home.
