The 2016 Nora’s Home Gala was moved to the Royal Sonesta this year to celebrate Nora’s Home at the Kentucky Derby. Guests enjoyed fine dining, gambling, a luxurious auction, and dancing to live music provided by the David Careers Band. Guests could even have their picture taken by a live pony from the races! The event was chaired by the beautiful socialite couple, Brigette and Bashar Kalai and honored the Bono and Boudwin families–transplant recipients and advocates of organ donation. All funds raised from the evening went towards the $3.5M capital campaign goal for expanding Nora’s Home to an additional 16 guest suites to help alleviate the wait list that has developed since the home opened due to it’s popularity and the great boon it has become for transplant patients.
